FARM ANIMAL VISITS
Join us for some good ol' animal therapy! Local farm animals will visit the Resort to provide plenty of joy to our guests. Learn about the world of these furry and feathered friends from one of our locals farmers. Hosted at both Grand Cascades Lodge and Minerals Hotel on Saturdays and Sundays 10am - 2pm
Gather round the fire for an old fashioned marshmallow roast. Marshmallows and sticks for toasting provided. Please see the daily activity sheet at each hotel (Grand Cascades Lodge and Minerals Hotel) for specific locations. Parental supervision is required. Hosted nightly.
HIKING & NATURE TRAILS
Miles of hiking on valley floors, steep ascents, and ridge lines with outstanding view are all within minutes of Crystal Springs Resort, offering an incredible nature experience. The Resort offers hikes for all levels: beginner, intermediate and strenuous.
Bees are some of the hardest working creatures on the planet! Join our expert Beekeeper on the Activity Outlook behind Grand Cascades Lodge and learn about why bees are so important to our population, and how they support the ecosystem. Honey bees are responsible for pollinating 35% of the world’s food crops, and some foods – such as blueberries and almonds – wouldn’t exist without the work of the busy bee. Saturdays at 12 noon.
Come watch a family-favorite movie in the great outdoors. Entertaining films, old and new, will be presented at nightfall adjacent to our pools at both hotels (Grand Cascades Lodge and Minerals Hotel). Appropriate for all ages. Offered nightly at Grand Cascades and select nights at Minerals Hotel.
VERNON VALLEY FARM
This educational tour will take guests to nearby Vernon Valley Farm, where young, modern farmers (Kirk and Christina Stephens) utilize nature’s synergies to create a fully sustainable farm. Guests will enjoy a guided tour of the farm, interact with various farm animals, and harvest fresh fruit or vegetables (in season). The 270-acre farm offers exquisite views of our area. Pick up a Scavenger Hunt from your hotel Front Desk and amuse yourself as you track down fun and unique items located throughout the Resort.
Representing love and friendship, koi fish are considered to be one of the most gentle fish. Join us for our koi feeding session at Grand Cascades Lodge to learn more about these intelligent creatures. Daily at 2:30pm.
NIGHT EFFECT PHOTOGRAPHY*
Discover your night time artistry! Join us as we take long exposure photos while you creatively draw with sparklers under the stars. Fun for all ages. First-come, first-served basis on Friday nights.
PONY RIDES *
Delight your little ones with a hand-led ride on one of Farmer Keith's favorite ponies. Come meet Butters and Lily to create a memorable experience for your child. Parental assistance is required to assist our team to ensure social distancing. Hosted at Minerals Hotel Saturdays 9-11am and Grand Cascades Lodge Sundays 9-11am.
18-HOLE NATURAL GRASS PUTTING COURSE*
Located at Grand Cascades Lodge, this one-of-a-kind, 18-hole natural grass putting course features multi-tiered greens and rolling terrain accentuated by rippling streams and colorful landscaping. Open daily.
MASTER GARDENER TOUR
Discover and learn about an array of plants, herbs and vegetables during the Master Gardener Tour in the Chef's Garden at Grand Cascades Lodge. Join our knowledgeable groundskeeper Craig on select Saturday mornings through Columbus Day. 10 am.
Enjoy a variety of nighttime golf challenges using glow-in-the-dark golf balls! Come out for our exciting chipping and putting contests, as well as the closest to the pin competition held on the driving range. Great fun for all ages and skill levels. Hosted nightly.
Enjoy live music under the stars on the Fire and Water Terrace at Grand Cascades Lodge. Every Friday and Saturday evening though Columbus Day. 7 - 10 pm.
