Sustainability

In the culinary realm, the Resort is attuned to sustainability via multiple initiatives including the execution of a sophisticated kitchen waste management program designed to utilize peels, trimmings and bones in creative and flavorful ways, as well as a dedicated monitoring of food use levels. Apart from being mindful within its own facilities on activities impacting the environment, the Resort has also developed a number of culinary offerings with themes of sustainability including local farm tours, foraging classes, and the construction of bee hives to support the rebuilding of the local bee population.

These culinary initiatives are consistent with Crystal Springs Resort’s broader sustainability efforts and vision. We are proud to operate the largest Resort-based solar farm in the Northeastern United States. Developed in partnership with New Jersey based Marina Energy, the 25 acre solar field consists of over 19,000 solar panels and has the annual capacity to generate 3.5 Megawatts of electricity, which is more power than is consumed annually by the Resort’s two hotels.
